- Global Winter Wonderland
Global Winter Wonderland, the spectacular lantern festival and multicultural theme park, will make its Atlanta grand opening debut on Thursday, November 21 at Turner Field’s Green Lot. Global Winter Wonderland features giant illuminated lanterns including recreations of some of the world’s greatest architectural achievements, such as the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, Chichen Itza, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

- Gallery Slam: The Art of Poetry
At this FREE monthly event for high school students, young poets are invited to join spoken word artist Tommy Bottoms for writing workshops in the High's galleries from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by slamming in the Alliance Black Box Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m.

In a contra dance, parallel lines of dancers stand opposite -- or "contra to" -- their partners. A dancer and his/her partner form a couple.

Want your child to get more exercise? How about learn to play an instrument? Speak another language? How about all three in one class? Our pequeninos youth capoeira classes offers just that. Classes are available for children between the ages of 4-8. As with adult capoeira all ages/skill levels are taught together. Each 60 minute class includes training in capoeira movements such as the ginga, kicks and defenses along with games and activities designed to aid in sensory and developmental coordination. The youth also learn to play the musical instruments of capoeira and sing in Portuguese.

The Capo-Kids program is a capoeira program for kids ages five to 12.
