“The Stars of Tomorrow competition is a wonderful chance for Georgia’s youth to showcase their talents,” said Variety of Georgia Executive Director Chase Evangeline Andrews. “Variety is thrilled to be able to use our connections in the entertainment industry to offer teens a platform, as well as guidance and access to talent professionals who can help them follow their dreams.”
Since winning last year’s Stars of Tomorrow competition, local teen Daniel Mata has received endowments to complete a demo CD recording as well as distribution at Universal Music, a CD cover photoshoot, a trip to LA, as well as numerous training and performance opportunities.
The 2012 competition started with a state-wide talent call. Eligible teens across Georgia submitted contest entries, including videos of their best performances, electronically at www.varietystarsoftomorrow.com. After event coordinators approved each submission, they uploaded entries at www.youtube.com/varietyofgeorgia. Contestants shared their videos among friends and family to leverage their networks and gain exposure.
Judges then selected 20 finalists based on their performance video. Join them as the Top 20 local finalists compete in the next round! Ten finalists will be chosen to perform at the final competition at the Fox Theatre on March 17, 2013.
