Singer, songwriter and storyteller John Driskell Hopkins, a founding member of the Zac Brown Band, will appear for a special performance Saturday, November 18, 11 a.m. at the Little Shop of Stories , at 133 (A )East Court Square, Decatur, GA, 30030.

Hopkins will be on hand to perform as he lends his voice as a narrator and singer in the fun children's songbook he co-authored, entitled "The Moose & the Golden Spike." It’s a story about a moose named Junction who opened up his heart to friendship and saw his dream come true. The story was inspired by “Remember (Christmas)” by Harry Nilsson. Illustrations are provided by Dr. Chris Bassett.

The first 25 families in attendance that morning will receive free songbooks. Additional books will be available for $20.

The songbook includes five free story songs and a free narrated story track, featuring Hopkins. Audio tracks can be accessed through a smartphone’s app store and through downloading a free QR code reader/scanner app. You scan the QR codes using your smartphone and enjoy the songbook.

Currently one in four children who receive a heart transplant need to get a second one within five years of the procedure. The results of Enduring Hearts funded research projects contribute to the clinical and scientific knowledge about many important aspects of organ transplantation, e.g. the mechanisms of long-term organ deterioration, the consequences of tissue injury, and opportunities to intervene, postpone, and eliminate rejection processes. Enduring Hearts was ranked as a 2015 Top Rated Charity by Greatnonprofits. The organization has raised more than $2.5 million for research.

Enduring Hearts is gearing up a unique fundraising event, @GAgives on #GivingTuesday, taking place Tuesday, November 28. All donations made now through November 28 - will be matched dollar for dollar, up to various amounts, by up to 30 different matching donors. Each gift made on behalf of Enduring Hearts will have a potential 30:1 multiple. https://www.gagives.org/c/GGD/a/enduringhearts
